Dowsing 'Bomb detector' maker Jim McCormick arrested
Excellent news out of Britain, the maker of the dowsing rod bomb detector Jim McCormick has been arrested. The bomb detector was in use in Iraq as a way to prevent car bombs from entering Baghdad - from the news reports coming out of that area we can assume the device hasn't been very successful.
An excellent piece of sceptical journalism by BBC Newsnight, showed that these devices did not and could not work as claimed. The devices were first banned from being exported to Iraq and Afghanistan and McCormick was arrested on suspicion of fraud by misrepresentation.
